As a photographer in a small rural community I am called on to perform all sorts of jobs. I have shot weddings, and I can take photos for passports or other ID purposes. I often volunteer my services to photograph community events, and I contribute photos to the local newspaper. I’ve also provided photos free of charge for community grant applications, for the local Shire and CRC websites, and my photos feature on the Darkan information bay display. That is all part of being a community member in a small country town.
Here is a list of the services that I offer. If I can help you in any way then please get in touch!
Farm and Agricultural Photography
For photos on farms I am able to photograph livestock, infrastructure, people, machinery, families, and anything else that needs to be photographed. I prefer to photograph in a documentary style, so I enjoy taking photos of farming families going about their farming activities. Let me come with you while you’re feeding livestock, while you’re planning or harvesting crops, while you’re drenching cattle or crutching sheep.
Are you promoting farm produce? I can photograph your produce either in place on your farm, or under studio conditions.
For full farm photography service see Australian Farm Albums.
Studio Portrait Photography
Portraits taken in the controlled lighting environment of the studio are the ultimate portrait photos.
Especially for women, having beautiful photos taken of themselves is a really positive experience.
At the studio in Darkan there is a makeup and dressing room, and I even have some outfits that you can wear and accessories to add to what you bring with you for your photo session.
I call the fully inclusive portrait experience for women a “Modern Beauty Portrait Session”. The session takes about three hours, with first your hair and makeup being done, and then a directed photo session in the studio with several outfit changes, and different hair and makeup looks. You will be offered refreshments to help you sustain you during your session.
When you return to view your photos I will have a selection of photos printed for you to select your favourites, and packages can include a stylish presentation and storage box to keep your portraits in.
Coverage of events can be as casual or involved as you require. I love being a “fly on the wall” and photographing events as they unfold. Equally I can take formal photos of events including group photos and set-up shots.
Field Days, seminars, conferences, reunions, and sporting events are all types of events that I have covered.
Have you been asked for a photo of yourself to post in an article, or to put on your business card? Do you have a great picture of yourself for your LinkedIn profile? Are you struggling to get dates on Tinder? Do you want to update your Facebook profile picture?
Let me photograph you and I promise that I’ll handle you gently to bring out your best in your headshots.
Aerial Drone Photos
Drone photos make fantastic wall art. Get an aerial photo printed large for stunning effect.
Using my DJI Mavic 2 Pro I can take 20 megapixel images from up to 120 metres above the ground.
Your rural property can reveal a lot from above. See how water logging affects crops, see the extent of salinity affecting land, view watercourses or livestock traffic patterns that are not immediately obvious from ground level.
Business and Commercial Photography
To promote your business you need the best photos possible, especially if you’re posting images on social media like Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest. Your website will look better with professional photos, and for your printed brochures or advertising having photos in the right format is essential.
I’d love to help you improve the image of your business by photographing you and your staff or premises.
I am a contributor to the Austockphoto stock photo collective. Austockphoto provides exclusively Australian photographs which appeal to businesses, organisations and not-for-profits.
Businesses and organisations often require photos to accompany articles online or in print. Brochures look best with a brilliant photo, and blog posts work best with an image. There are lots of cheap online royalty free websites where you can pick up generic photos for a couple of bucks, but they can be tacky and have a European or American feel to them.
If you have a particular need for a specific photo, it might be worth asking if I have something on file, even if it is not available on the Austockphoto library.
Websites need photos. When you need photos for your website they need to be formatted correctly to suit the website theme or template. For instance a header photo is usually wide but not very high. I format the photos to the correct dimensions, and optimise them as jpegs to suit website use.
Nearly everyone searches the internet when they are looking for businesses these days, so it is important that you have an online presence, and that your website provides the right content to get your business on the first page of google searches. High quality photos make your business stand out.
Darkan Web Services can register your domain name, create a website, and show you how to easily add posts to your blog to keep your website up-to-date.
